- Kitchen Maintenance: The kitchen and workstation should be clean at all times.
- Facilitating: Difficult situations must be managed and the residents need to be responded in a professional manner.
- Record Keeping: Keeping records of what is being served to the residents, their dining schedules and the operations of the kitchen facility.
- Creating Menus: Creating appropriate and high-quality menus while adhering to the restrictions given by doctors, nutritionists and other facility managers.
- Cooking: Preparing daily meals for all the residents in the living facility.
- Follow Dietary Requirements: Following the recommendations of the residents' nutritionists and doctors for preparing meals.
- Planning and Organizing: Menu planning and preparation for special events, in addition to handling other daily chores.
- Ordering Raw Material and Fresh Produce: Everything needed for the cooking task needs to be ordered, and maintained in the proper way.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Culinary School Certificate
- 2 years cooking experience; Assisted Living experience preferred
- Current ServSafe Certification required
- Obtain and hold any local or state required food handling\supervision\sanitation licenses and/or certifications
- Requires knowledge of special diets
- Flexibility with schedule
